Feedback software comparison
4 Productboard Alternatives for Small SaaS Teams
A Productboard alternative should preserve the part of your workflow that matters. A public request board can be enough when one founder collects feedback and communicates progress. A team coordinating research, strategy, and delivery may need a broader planning system. Compare four options below, with Productboard as the baseline.

Compare pricing, fit, and limits
We publish Feedbackly. This comparison uses our supported capabilities and the official vendor pages linked below; it is not a hands-on test of competing products. Prices and plan details can change.
| Product | Published price | Useful for | Check before choosing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Productboard official pricing | Business: request a demo; Enterprise: contact sales | Collaborative product planning, customer insights, roadmaps, and prioritization. | Pricing is based on makers; published plans list a minimum of five. Confirm your quote and required integrations. |
| Feedbackly official pricing | $9/month or $90/year | Public requests, voting, a roadmap, and reviewed Slack, Notion, or CSV imports for one board owner. | No shared administration, private boards, or custom domains. CSV imports do not preserve votes or customer identities. |
| Upvoty official pricing | Power: $15/month, billed monthly | Power includes a public roadmap, custom domain, and unlimited boards in one project. | Compare project limits and integration coverage with your workflow before switching. |
| Canny official pricing | Free: $0; Pro starts at $79/month, billed yearly | Automatic feedback capture and a free entry plan with 25 tracked users. | Budget using tracked-user requirements and the billing interval, rather than feedback volume alone. |
| Frill official pricing | Startup: $25/month | Paid plans include unlimited admins and widgets; Startup allows 50 ideas and one survey. | Check idea limits and the cost of privacy and white-labeling options. |
Separate public feedback from internal product planning
List what you use today: feedback notes, product hierarchy, prioritization criteria, customer context, delivery dependencies, and the customer-facing portal. Mark each as essential, occasional, or unused. This makes the evaluation concrete: you are replacing a set of tasks, not a logo.
Feedbackly fits the public feedback portion: customers submit requests, add comments, vote, and follow status changes. One owner manages the board. It does not replace collaborative administration, a private research repository, or delivery dependency planning. Keep those responsibilities in an appropriate system if you still need them.
Build a shortlist from one real requirement
For an owner-managed public board, compare Feedbackly and Upvoty. For automated feedback capture, investigate Canny. For a board with several administrators, investigate Frill. Use the table to narrow the options, then verify the required plan in a trial. Do not infer that every advertised feature is included at the entry price.
Keep Productboard on the shortlist when your planning depends on capabilities beyond a feedback board. Moving to a simpler tool only helps if the remaining workflow is still manageable. Include the work of maintaining spreadsheets, research notes, or delivery tools in your comparison rather than counting subscription fees alone.
Test the evidence trail before migrating
Choose a recent product decision and reconstruct the path from customer evidence to the planned change. Can a reviewer still see the original problem, affected customer, decision reason, and current status in the proposed setup? Keep confidential research and account details out of a public board.
For a Feedbackly trial, export a small set of request titles and descriptions and review them through CSV board setup. Retain the original source records: votes, identities, attachments, and roadmap statuses do not transfer automatically. Confirm which planning records will remain in your existing system before replacing public links or ending a subscription.
